John B., age 72, died December 17, 2014. Loving friend, companion and husband of Dolly Kohls (nee Barnett) for 48 years. Beloved son of the late Mary (nee Megel) and Bernard Kohls. Dear brother of Sr. Elaine of Ethiopia, Berni Wehner, Richard (Patricia), Paula Wedig (Daniel), Rose Gahl (Daniel) and Joseph. Loving father of Stephen Kohls (Laura Kenny), Douglas Kohls (Alyson Boehmer), Kristin Vredeveld (George), and Jason Kohls (Debra Arnsmeyer). Much loved "Papa" of John Tyler Kohls, Sarah Kohls, Alexandra Vredeveld, Rebecca Kohls, Sydney Kohls, George "Trey" Vredeveld III, Peyton Kohls, Nicholas Vredeveld, Thomas Kohls, Ella Kohls, and Audrey Kohls. John was a graduate of UC (Engineering) and XU (MBA). He was a loyal fan of local sports teams and offered privately his recommendations for improvements for their shortcomings. Favorite past-time was watching his grandchildren in sports, theatre, concerts, and numerous other activities. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Church, Hyde Park, Saturday, December 20 at 10:00am. Visitation at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, Mt. Lookout, Friday, December 19 from 4-6pm.
